Oswego County officials have come to a tax agreement with Constellation Energy over its two nuclear plants at Nine Mile Point. The county has just put out a notice of a special meeting of the county legislature for Wednesday during which the agreement will become public.

Oswego County Administrator Phil Church tells CNY Central that the "agreement is beneficial to taxpayers and is unlike the 10 year agreement that had expired."  He is not releasing any further details.

For the past decade, Constellation has been making payments in lieu of taxes to Oswego County, the Oswego School District and the Town of Scriba amounting to nearly $20 million dollars. Church says the county, school district and the town were all involved in the discussions with Constellation Energy.
