HASTINGS, OSWEGO CO. -- A Central Square couple is facing charges after a child was bound to a wooden chair with duct tape.
Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old Matthew Roof, of 166 Little Canada Road, bound the child with zip ties and duct tape at a Town of Hastings home to prevent the child from moving. He's charged with unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.
His wife, 32-year-old Tina Roof, is accused of witnessing the incident and not doing anything to stop it. She's charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
They were both arraigned in the Town of Hastings Court. Matthew Roof was released on his own recognizance. His wife was sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail. They are both due back in court on November 23.
