SANDY CREEK, OSWEGO CO. -- A local man drowned in Sandy Bay in the Town of Sandy Creek Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. in Blind Creek Cove, which is part of North Pond off of Lake Ontario.

43 year-old Tracey Bango, of 31714 County Route 20 in Philadelphia, was duck hunting from the shore near Blind Creek Cove in Oswego County.

Police say Bango took a kayak out to retrieve a duck he just shot, approximately 140 yards off shore when he fell out of the kayak and drowned. His body was recovered around 10:30 a.m. by the Oswego County Dive Team.

The other kayaker was not hurt.
