SYRACUSE -- The Onondaga County District Attorney's Office says it has received materials from the Syracuse Police Department regarding the Bernie Fine investigation.

District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick subpoenaed the records involved in the investigation into sexual allegations against former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine last week. The subpoena helped expose what Fitzpatrick called a rift between the City of Syracuse and the District Attorney's Office. Fitzpatrick accused the police department of sabotaging the investigation. Mayor Stephanie Miner then accused Fitzpatrick of personal and professional attacks.

Mayor Miner had said the records would not be turned over until the appropriate time. The police department says that appropriate time has come because federal agencies have taken over the investigation.

A representative from the District Attorney's Office says it is unlikely Fitzpatrick will comment today because the office does not comment on ongoing investigations.
