Law Enforcement and Emergency Service agencies were out in force Saturday morning, in the 28th annual Lights on Caravan.

Dozens of police cars, emergency service agencies, and area businesses were part of the procession, from the CENTRO facility on Syracuse's south side, up Salina Street to Erie Boulevard, the onto Genesee Street to Fayetteville Towne Center.

The Caravan honors and remembers victims of drunk and drugged driving, and the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board says it's also to remind drivers of the dangers of impaired driving, especially during the holiday season.

It's one part of heightened awareness which will also include checkpoints and targeted enforcement by area police, and an awareness campaign, Project Roadblock, which we'll be telling you more about as we get closer to the Holidays.
