Families sue Brookfield Renewable Energy for $75,000

OSWEGO,NY -- On September 29th, 2010 45 year old Leonard Nicholas of Wellsburg, NY drowned while fishing in the Oswego River. The same day 52 year old Clifford Luther of Horseheads, NY was swept under the water and died in the hospital on week later. Tonight CNY Central has learned the families of these fishermen have filed a lawsuit against Brookfeild Renuable Power INC. The families claim the Nicholas and Clifford died because the Oswego based power company released a massive amount of water without warning while men were fishing in the river.Since the death of these two men conflicting reports of when a key alert fishermen of rising water was sounded.
