SYRACUSE -- Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick announced Wednesday that Peggy Ann Hart was arrested on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records.
Fitzpatrick says Hart is accused of using National Grid’s line of credit to make personal purchases, which were delivered to her at National Grid in Syracuse.
Purchases were also delivered to her home in Oswego County. Some of the items were recovered at her Cayuga County lakefront cabin.
Hart worked for National Grid for 25 years.
“Ms. Hart’s arrest was the result of a two month investigation conducted by my office,” said Fitzpatrick in a written statement.
“At this point, we estimate the total amount of theft to be close to $100,000,” Fitzpatrick said.
Hart was arraigned Wednesday morning in Syracuse City Court. The Judge released Hart to the pre-trial release program.
