JUNIUS -- State Police in Junius Ponds are investigating a motor vehicle accident on the Thruway Thursday afternoon.

Police say a tractor trailer was traveling westbound by mile marker 323 in the Town of Junius in Seneca County when it struck a disabled car that was pulled over but partially still in the lane. After being struck by the tractor trailer, the car then rolled over down an embankment.

The car was a 2001 Oldsmobile. Five people were inside the car, and all of them sustained injuries. Four were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, two by helicopter. The fifth person was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse by helicopter.

The tractor trailer was driven by Dariusz Greniuk, age 50 of Rue Antoine-Faucon, Pierrefonds, Quebec. He was not injured in the accident. The tractor trailer was a 2005 Volvo owned by Reimer Express of Quebec Canada.

Police are currently investigating the accident.
