Truck driver is ok, after crash near Canastota interchange
A tractor trailer that spilled its load of garbage is making for a messy Saturday cleanup along the State Thruway.
The driver told troopers that a vehicle in front of him slowed, and when he hit his brakes, the tractor trailer went out of control and tipped. He was taken to the hospital for a checkup, but is believed to be ok.
Troopers closed down the passing lane westbound, just to the west of the Canastota Interchange (exit 34) as containers were brought in to re-package the spilled garbage. The truck was righted just before noon, with cleanup nearing completion.
