SYRACUSE -- CNY Central’s first ever Operation: Hired, a veterans’ only career fair, is Tuesday from 10am-5pm at OCC’s new SRC Center.
Operation: Hired has signed on 60 area employers to offer jobs. In addition to jobs, veterans will find help making the transitions from military to civilian life, resume and job interviewing tips, and information on military medical benefits.
Employers include C&S Companies, AXA, Crouse Hospital, Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, Onondaga Community College, Upstate Medical Center, The Syracuse VA Medical Center, Lockheed Martin, Morrisville State College, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, Syracuse University University College, and many more.
Antony Basile will speak at Operation: Hired at 9:30am. Basile is a retired and accomplished U.S. Air Force colonel who successfully made the transition into a career as manager at C&S airport group.
Basile says, “Having fairly recently made the transition of leaving a long military career to start a new civilian career, I have a pretty good sense of the flood of emotions and concerns facing today’s military members who are about to start that new segment of their lives.”
