CAMILLUS -- Parents in the West Genesee Central School District get another chance tonight to ask questions about a proposal that could move their kids to a different school.
School administrators say the district needs to be re-balanced because enrollment has dramatically dropped in some schools.
Officials say Onondaga Road and East Hill Elementary schools have the same building setup, but Onondaga has 150 fewer students.
West Genesee Middle is smaller than Camillus Middle, but it has 160 more students.
Parents met with school officials in January to hear about a district-wide study analyzing enrollment.
Many expressed concerns over the impact it would have on their kids if they were placed in a different school.
The study is also looking at having a full-day kindergarten.
The results of the study will be presented to the school board in May.
There are a handful of meetings scheduled this winter.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at West Genesee Middle School.
If the school board votes to accept the plan presented in May, Superintendent Christopher Brown says changes wouldn't go into affect until at least the 2013-2014 school year.
