VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) -- Six State University of New York schools are included on the Princeton Review's list of the "Best Value Colleges" for 2012.

They are the universities at BuffaloBinghamton and Stony Brook and the state colleges at Geneseo, New Paltz and Oswego.

Binghamton was ranked No. 4 among best value public colleges. The editors at the Princeton Review praise the school for its "top-tier academics and palatable sticker price."

The Best Value Colleges were selected based upon institutional data and student opinion surveys.

Tuition at SUNY is $5,270 a year for New York residents, with fees varying from campus to campus. The tuition will rise over the next five years.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ranked No. 1 on the list of public colleges.
