SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man was sentenced to 1.3 to 3 years in state prison for stabbing three people during a fight near a cheerleading practice at a Syracuse school in August 2011.

Emanuel Harper, 26, was sentenced in Onondaga County Court before Judge John Brunetti.

Police say Isiah Robinson, 21, was where Fowler High School cheerleaders were practicing near Frasier School when he started harassing them.

A group of teenage boys came to defend them and a fight broke out.

Police say  Harper then came out of a nearby home and stabbed three teenagers.

Residents said it was not the first time there has been a problem near the school. Neighbors say crime is a growing problem around the school.
