CANTON (AP) -- The State University of New York at Canton has canceled classes for a week following an explosion in a chemistry lab.
No one was injured in the fire Friday, but college spokesman Gregory Kie told the Watertown Daily Times that the campus would remain closed next week while the damage is cleaned up.
The school is in St. Lawrence County, about 120 miles northeast of Syracuse.
Classes are scheduled to resume on Feb. 20.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated. The lab where the fire broke out contains several explosive chemicals.
