CLAY -- One person was hurt following reports of a chemical explosion at a facility in Clay.

Emergency crews on the scene tell CNYCentral one person was overcome with a type of sulfur gas. No word yet on the extent of the person's injuries. It's unclear if there was an actual explosion, but investigators say the gas was violently released. They say chemical fumes spread through the entire facility.

Crews were dispatched to American Container on Crossroads Park Drive, but the incident was at the Mercer Milling Company facility. We're told the company is a milling facility and processes grain.

We have a news crew on the scene. Stay with us for any updates.
