EAST SYRACUSE --
Soon, high school students who participate in the East Syracuse Minoa television studio will know if they've won as much as $15,000 in a contest sponsored by an insurance company. The video is designed to prevent students from engaging in distracted driving - especially texting. The students will learn if they've won either first or second place in the contest on March 1. "The award will accomplish a great deal in our school, but being able to prevent students from driving distracted is even more rewarding," said teacher Michael Ferris.
The contest is sponsored by NYCM insurance which is based in Edmeston, NY. The video was created by Chris Steinberger and Matt Pede.
