Alert: Police looking for possibly ill missing man

CANANDAIGUA -- Police in Ontario County are seeking the public's assistance locating a missing man who may need medical help.

The State Division of Criminal Justice Services has issued a Missing Adult Alert related to the disappearance of 64-year-old Harvey Walters of Canandaigua. Canandaigua Police requested the alert after Walters turned up missing from his residence on Sunday.

Police describe Walters as a white male standing 5'8" tall, weighing 180 pounds, and is bald with brown eyes. He is said to be paranoid schizophrenic and an insulin dependent diabetic with other life-threatening medical conditions. Police say Walters may be confused and in need of medical attention. He may be using public transportation such as a bus or train in an attempt to travel to California.

Police ask that anyone who has seen Walters Contact the Canandaigua Police Department by calling 585-396-5035 or 911.
