OSWEGO -- Oswego City Police say they responded to a robbery complaint in the area of Ontario and Lake Streets Monday at approximately 11:13pm.

Police say the victim alleged while he was walking his dog, an unknown male suspect approached him, pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at him, and demanded money. The victim says he told the robber he had no money, and the robber fled the area.

The victim allegedly observed the suspect get into a white Mitsubishi Lancer motor vehicle, and was able to provide a license plate number to police.

Police later identified the suspect as 20-year-old Camren McKenna, of Oswego.

Just prior to receiving the robbery complaint, Oswego Police say they responded to a report of a suspicious condition the area of 278 Syracuse Avenue. Police say that upon arrival, they were informed by area residents that an individual had been seen exiting a vehicle matching the description of the white Mitsubishi Lancer.

Police say that the individual had been further observed walking into a side yard and disposing of several items. When police examined the items, they say they discovered a black air pistol, and several items of clothes that matched the description provided by the robbery victim.

Police say that after further investigation, police responded to 141 West Oneida Street. At the police station, they arrested 20-year-old Camren McKenna, of 141 West Oneida Street, Oswego.

McKenna was charged with attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned in Oswego City Court and remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $3,000.00 cash bail or $6,000.00 bail bond.
