SYRACUSE -- Police say one person is in critical condition after a double shooting on Syracuse's south side.
Police have confirmed to CNY Central the victim is a 15-year-old boy.
He's now been identified as Ronnie Daniels.
Sgt. Tom Connellan says a black Honda pulled into a driveway on Furman Street near Midland Avenue shortly after two o'clock Wednesday afternoon. A grey SUV pulled in behind the Honda and opened fire. The SUV then pulled away.
Officers say the other shooting victim, a 17-year-old boy -- identified as Lamyke Kelly -- got out of the Honda. Daniels was critically injured and stayed in the backseat. Kelly then pulled away following the SUV. He suffered minor graze wounds and is expected to be released from the hospital.
About half a mile away, the Honda ran a red light at State Street and Castle Street and was hit by another car. Police say the driver bailed out of the car and tried to run away. A worker at a nearby garage came out, stopped the driver, and held him there until police got to the scene.
Wednesday night, neighbors on the Southside told us they are worried their loved ones will get caught in the cross fire and want the violence to end.
"I think its ridiculous, it's sick" said Lerotha Curry. "This violence shouldn't be happening."
"It's scary because my daughter gets off the bus around here this time of day so that's scary," said Tiffany Johnson who lives nearby.
"It's really scary and it's senseless. Right now its really bad out here. We need to be mentors," said Master Brown who says he is concerned about the violence.
So far, police have made no arrests in the case. If you have any information on the shooting, call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
