BINGHAMTON -- The Binghamton Postal Service distribution plant plans to move operations to North Syracuse this spring.

Natalie Dolan from the United States Postal Service says that 70 jobs are being lost in Binghamton as a distribution plant closes.

The closing is part of the national consolidation of distribution plants as USPS looks to save money.

Binghamton operations are moving to the Taft Road Post Office in North Syracuse, adding 50 jobs in Syracuse later this year, and employees from the Binghamton plant will be given first option.
