SYRACUSE -- Green beer is now filling pint glass at Coleman's Pub on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse.

Sunday around noontime, one of the shortest parades rolled through Tompkins Street featuring traditional Irish bagpipers and step-dancers.

The main attraction -- the Coleman's tanker truck -- stopped in front of the historic bar as hundreds of thirsty people gathered around it for their cup of free, green beer.

This was the 49th Green Beer Delivery Day on Tipp Hill, which essentially kicks off the month-long celebration of St. Patrick's Day in Syracuse.

In two weeks, the Shamrock Run takes place through Tipp Hill.

The weekend after, the annual St. Patrick's Parade marches through downtown Syracuse.

Folks we spoke with today said they look forward to this time of the year as a way to celebrate Irish heritage.
