ELLISBURG -- An Adams woman was arrested on drug charges after she was found unconscious following a crash.
It happened around 2:10 p.m. Monday on US Route 11 in the Town of Ellisburg just south of the Village of Adams.
State police say 51-year-old Kathleen Greene, of Grove Street, was unconscious when they got there and stopped breathing for a period of time. Rescue crews were able to get her to start breathing again.
Police say Greene was chewing a Fentanyl patch that she took from her father's home and became semi-conscious during the drive back from his home, crashing into some guide wires.
A Fentanyl patch is used only for long-term or chronic pain requiring continuous, around-the-clock narcotic pain relief.
Green was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and ticketed for moving from a lane unsafely. She is scheduled to be back in the Town of Ellisburg Court on March 14.
