How long has it been since we have been this warm?
SYRACUSE -- Yesterday morning, temperatures were as cold as -10° below zero in the North Country and 15 to 20° above zero near the Syracuse area. What a difference today makes! Sunshine plus a southerly wind will import May type weather this afternoon! I expect temperatures to reach and exceed the record high for March 7th, which is 64° set back in 1973.
How long has it been since we have been this warm? The last time Syracuse hit 60° was 99 days ago on November 29th, 2011. The last time Syracuse reached 70° was 119 days ago on November 9th, 2011. It is not completely out of the question that the temperature might get that high today. However, it is more likely we remain most of the afternoon in the 60°s. Either way, it has been months since we have experienced this type of spring-like warmth across all of central New York.
