SYRACUSE -- The city of Syracuse may end up paying thousands of dollars to a man whose arrest was caught on tape.

The video showed a man being arrested after a domestic dispute on Park Street last July. 25-year-old Edward Jones says he was slammed into a police cruiser with enough force to break the side-view mirror and cause an injury to his eye.

Jones later filed a lawsuit, saying his civil rights were violated.

This Monday, the Syracuse Common Council will discuss a possible settlement of $35,000.

The officer shown in the video did not face any criminal charges, but was disciplined.
