Also launching a new women leadership effort
The Postal Service releases this stamp on Monday, part of the 100th birthday celebration for Girl Scouts
When the Girl Scouts celebrate their 100th anniversary on Monday, a new 'Forever' stamp will mark the occasion. In Syracuse, they're also doing a gala dinner, honoring 100 women at the Oncenter. And, they're looking ahead.
Pam Hyland, CEO of the NY/Penn Region for the Girl Scouts, says they're declaring 2012 the Year of the Girl, and are launching an initiative called ToGetHer There. The first three words spell together, and it's aimed at teaching leadership so that more young women get into careers where women are still in the minority. The website (click above) also takes you to a pledge to involve adults, and men--as well as potential and current scouts.
The Syracuse Gala is Monday evening, and there's information on it, and on where you can still buy Girl Scout cookies, on their website.
