ALBANY -- Nearly a dozen police dogs and their handlers are moving up after finishing their training.

A special ceremony was held Monday for 11 State Police officers and 11 canines who have been going through vigorous training. They all graduated from the Basic Canine Handler School at the New York State Police Academy in Albany.

The group included Deputy Shawn Burbidge of the Madison County Sheriff's Department and his dog Kota. The pair will now come back to CNY to help the Madison County police force.
