TUPPER LAKE -- Authorities have launched a search for a college student on spring break who hasn't been seen since he walked away from a party in his Adirondack hometown.
State police and forest rangers started searching for 18-year-old Colin Gillis of Tupper Sunday night, after his family reported that he hadn't been seen since earlier that morning.
State police say Gillis had left a party and was last seen walked on Route 3 between Tupper Lake in Franklin County and the town of Piercefield in neighboring St. Lawrence County.
More than 100 volunteers searched for him Monday. The search was scheduled to resume Tuesday morning.
The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that Gillis just returned home on spring break from college when he attended the party.
Gillis is described as a white male, 6' tall, 170 lbs. With blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with black stripes, blue jeans and red sneakers.
State Police, Forest Rangers and volunteers are conducting an organized search in the area where Gillis was last seen. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police in Ray Brook at (518) 897-2000.
