SYRACUSE -- A man accused of tricking his neighbors out of money is going to prison.
Vincent Brush was sentenced Tuesday in Onondaga County Court. He was arrested last fall in what DeWitt Police called a scheme. Officers say Brush went door to door in DeWitt, getting people to pay him cash in advance for yard work and other small tasks. However, police say Brush never intended to do any of the work. Brush was charged with forgery, scheme to defraud, and several counts of petit larceny.
Brush was sentenced to two to four years in state prison. He will also have to pay restitution totaling $5,149.
This isn't the first case like this for Brush. He was arrested in 2005 and 2006 on similar charges.
