SU Vs. Wisconsin: Thursday night, 7:15 on CBS 5

BOSTON -- Syracuse fans and alumni from the Boston area are looking forward to welcoming out of town Orange fans for the next few days.

The Orange will play at 7:15 Thursday night at the TD Garden and the majority of the fans are expected to arrive a few hours before the game.

Boston natives had some advice for fans coming in for the game and some recommended spots to check out.

Must See Boston Sights:

Quincy Market - A combination of open air vendors and small stores about a half mile south of the TD Garden. Quincy Market dates back to 1742 and features unique bakeries, clothing stores and small shops with Boston specialities. There is also a reproduction of the "Cheers" bar from the NBC TV show. The Union Oyster house, just a few blocks away, is considered one of the best seafood restaurants in the Boston area.

Newbury Street - Boston's most famous and unique shopping district. Armani, Chanel, Burberry and Kate Spade all have stores on this street of renovated brownstone buildings. Not all the shops will cost an arm and a leg. Several chic but affordable designers have also set up shop here as well as Ben and Jerry's ice cream and several cafes.

Harvard Square - Across the river in Cambridge, visitors can explore the Harvard University campus and some of the most unique CD and record shops in the Northeastern United States. Movie buffs will also recognize Harvard Square from the dozens of movies filmed on location here including "Good Will Hunting."

Boston Common - A large sprawling park in the center of the city. In the summer visitors can take swan boat rides on a pond in the middle of the common.

The North End - Small Italian bakeries and restaurants are tucked into the narrow streets of this historic neighborhood a short distance from the TD Garden.

There is a pre-game party at West End Johnnies at 138 Portland St. on Thursday. The Pour House on Boylston St. is also a well known Syracuse gathering spot.
