NORTH SYRACUSE -- Teachers in the North Syracuse Central School District are agreeing to a pay freeze.
The North Syracuse Education Association says its members "overwhelmingly" agreed to the salary freeze for the 2012-2013 school year. The union says the agreement "reflects the stark financial realities of our district and community, and cements our commitment to our children while honoring those who teach them.
The agreement will be presented to the Board of Education at a meeting Monday night.
The deal hinges on the school budget passing when it goes up for a vote in May.
