Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
SYRACUSE -- A big name is coming to Syracuse.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be speaking at Syracuse University on Monday. She will visit the Maxwell School for a conversation entitled "America and the World" with Maxwell School Dean James Steinberg. Steinberg served as Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State until becoming Maxwell's dean last summer.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be at noon at Hendrick's Chapel. Doors will open at 9:45am and all guests must be seated by 11:15am. Anyone who attends the event will be subject to security screening. Bags will be subject to additional screening. Backpacks and large bags are discouraged.
Parking will be available in Irving Garage for $3.00.
If you can't attend the event in person, you can watch it online. It will be streamed at www.maxwell.syr.edu.
The SU chapter of Youth and Student ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) is planning to protest the event, calling on Secretary Clinton to end any U.S. action in and around Syria.
Of course, Secretary Clinton is no stranger to Syracuse. She visited Central New York several times as a senator, and along with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
The Maxwell School will be live streaming the event on their website.
