Man identified and expected to survive after shooting on West Onondaga Street

SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have identified the man shot Monday night on the city’s west side.

34-year-old Tristian James was shot multiple times along the 1600 hundred block of West Onondaga street.

It happened Monday night around 11:40pm in front of 1633 West Onondaga Street in Syracuse.

James was taken to Upstate University Hospital in extremely critical condition where he underwent emergency surgery. He is expected to survive.

Witnesses told police that an older model four door vehicle sped away from the scene after the shooting.

Police collected evidence at the scene and are asking anyone with information to call them at 315-442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
