OSWEGO (AP) -- A graduate of the State University College at Oswego who made a fortune in the real estate business is donating nearly $5 million to his alma mater.

Officials at the college on the Lake Ontario shore in Central New York say on Wednesday that the donor has asked to remain anonymous.

They say he's a native of Central New York and Vietnam-era veteran who graduated with a math degree that helped him succeed in a real estate career.

The donation, the largest planned gift in the school's history, will support the college's Possibility Scholars program for students from New York who want to study in the science, technology, engineering and math fields at Oswego State.
