Suspicious substance found in a passenger’s carry on bag at Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

SYRACUSE -- Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Syracuse Hancock International Airport say they spotted an unusual metal container that contained a suspicious substance on Thursday, April 26, and they notified police.
The container was found inside a New York City-bound passenger’s carry on bag as it went through the security checkpoint.
Police found the container was holding five ounces of an explosive substance which can be used to create an explosive device.
TSA took the container of explosive powder from the passenger and he was allowed to continue on his flight.
The passenger is a resident of Arizona who previously resided in Syracuse.
