ONONDAGA LAKE PARK -- A big event is coming back to Onondaga Lake.
Race on the Lake is returning to Central New York this year. The event features hydroplane racers from across the U.S. and Canada. More than 60 hydroplane boats will be part of the race. Some of the boats can reach speeds of 200 miles an hour!
This year's event will also feature vintage hydroplane boats from the 1970s.
Race on the Lake will be held on June 16th and 17th from 9:30am - 5:00pm. The races are expected to draw visitors from across the Northeast and Canada. The event will be more than just boats. There will also be arts and crafts, retailers, food vendors, and live music along the shore. All of the action will be in the Willow Bay section of Onondaga Lake Park, with parking at Long Branch Park.
