SKANEATELES -- The top job in the Skaneateles School District is open. Philip D'Angelo is leaving Central New York this summer to take a job with another school system on Long Island.

On Wednesday evening, after conducting what it calls a, "comprehensive and thorough recruitment search," the Wantagh UFSD Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of D'Angelo as the new Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2012.

Wantagh is on the southern coast of Long Island.

In a statement on the Wantagh schools website, the district writes, "Mr. D'Angelo possesses the professional qualifications, leadership skills, and vision to lead our students and school district to even greater levels of achievement."

The Wantagh district's website indicates it has 283 students enrolled in the Class of 2011.
