Syracuse police have identified the woman hit by a car and critically injured on the Syracuse University campus as Maria Sanfeliu-Cruz, 21.

SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police have identified the woman hit by a car and critically injured on the Syracuse University campus.
Maria Sanfeliu-Cruz, 21, of Puerto Rico, was hit by a car while trying to cross Comstock Avenue in Syracuse on Wednesday night, according to police. She is an SU student.
The police investigation revealed Sanfeliu-Cruz was crossing the street around 10 p.m. when she was struck by a 2002 Mercury Sedan operated by 32-year-old Hussein Mumin.
The victim suffered a head injury and was immediately transported to Upstate Hospital, where she is currently in critical condition.
The accident is still under investigation and no tickets have been issued at this time.
