SYRACUSE -- Syracuse Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in a parking lot in the 800 block of South Geddes Street Thursday afternoon.
Police say 26-year-old Carmen Ramos of Syracuse was involved in an argument over money with Jonalis Pizarro, 18, of Syracuse around 3:30 p.m.
The argument turned physical when a negative comment was made concerning Ramos' mother.
During the physical confrontation, Pizarro stabbed Ramos in the abdomen with a black folding pocket knife. Ramos was transported to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Pizarro was located a short time later at her home. She was identified by a witness as the person who stabbed Ramos.
Pizarro was charged with second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Pizarro was arraigned in Syracuse City Court Friday morning.She pleaded pleaded not guilty and was given $15,000 bail.
