NEW BERLIN -- A New Berlin man was arrested after allowing his cow to roam off his property.

Police arrested Joseph Mocco Jr., 68, following an investigation into a bull roaming on land next to his property without the consent of the land owner.

The bull was allegedly roaming around property adjacent to Hunts Ponds Road, in the Town of New Berlin, Chenango County.

Just last week, six of Mocco’s horses were shot dead by his neighbor, Lauren McMaster, after they allegedly walked on to McMaster’s property.

Police charged Mocco with one count of unlawfully allowing a breeding animal to roam in violation of section 95 of the agriculture and markets law.

Mocco was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to the Town of New Berlin Court.
