BALDWSINVILLE -- New Route 31 in Baldwinsville is shut down after a serious crash.

The State Department of Transportation says the road is closed in both directions between Downer Street and East Dead Creek Road. It is expected to stay closed until around 5:30pm.

Two cars crashed at a curve near Dead Creek Road at about 11:30 Tuesday morning. One car went into a ditch. State Police say two women were hurt in the crash. One was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The other was in serious condition.

Troopers are now reconstructing the accident, trying to figure out what happened. The road is expected to stay closed until about 9:00pm.
