SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse woman was ticketed Friday morning after police say she ran a stop sign and caused a two-car crash.

According to Syracuse Police, around 7:50 a.m. a 2007 Mazda SUV was traveling down Collingwood Avenue in Syracuse when it drove through a stop sign and ran into a 1997 Chrysler sedan headed east on Burnet Avenue near the Brooklyn Pickle restaurant.

Police and rescue crews responded to the scene and found the driver of the Mazda, 23-year-old Anquisha Edwards of Syracuse, complaining of back pain. She was taken to Upstate University Hospital for precautionary measures.

The male driver of the Chrysler was not injured. His name was not released.

Edwards was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield right of way.
