SYRACUSE -- One of the men suing Jim Boeheim and Syracuse University for defamation says he’s glad they didn’t win the lawsuit.

Mike Lang told The Post-Standard that he’s pleased the case he filed, along with his step-brother Bobby Davis, against Boeheim and SU was dismissed last week.

Lang's comments about the case were made the day after lawyers for Davis and Lang filed an appeal.

Lang told The Post-Standard that he filed the lawsuit for his brother and that he had no desire to pursue the lawsuit in the first place. Boeheim was just sticking up for his friend, Bernie Fine.

Davis and Lang accused Fine of sexually abusing them when they were ball boys for the men’s basketball team at Syracuse University. Fine has denied any wrongdoing and has not been charged.

Lang told The Post-Standard that the accusations against Fine are true, but that he didn’t want to get Boeheim fired.

Lang denied our request for a comment.
