Three children among those injured

Passing a stop sign is blamed for a fatal two car crash on Saturday

A woman is dead, her 3 year old son seriously hurt, after troopers say she ran a stop sign at a busy intersection on Saturday afternoon.
Troopers say 22 year old Nicole Dukerich was killed when she went through the Route 18/20 intersection in Plainfield, just after 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon, and slammed into another car.  Dukerich was dead at the scene, her son is now at University Hospital in Syracuse in serious condition.

The driver of the car that was hit, 36 year old Heather Simmons from Canastota, was airlifted to St. Elizabeth's in Utica and is in serious condition.  Her 12 year old daughter is at University Hospital in critical condition with a head injury, and a 13-year old friend is in serious condition at University Hospital.

State Troopers are continuing their investigation in the crash
