UTICA -- A Utica man was arrested after police found him driving drunk with his 8-year-old daughter in car.

Police in Utica say they stopped a car driven by 28-year-old George Roman around 12:08 am Saturday morning on Lafayette Street in Utica.

Police say they found that Roman had been drinking. Roman failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested.

At the time of his arrest, police say Roman’s 8-year-old daughter was in the car. As a result of this, police charged Roman with aggravated DWI and endangering the welfare of a child under Leandra's Law.

Police say Roman was placed in Utica Police Department lockup to await arraignment. The child was turned over to a family member.
