UTICA -- A former New York State Trooper pled guilty on charges connected to a break-in at a South Utica home Wednesday morning in Oneida County Court.

31-year-old Jesse Miller allegedly broke into a home on Beverly Place at the end of last year. They say Miller appeared to be drunk, and had gotten into a fight with the man who lived at the home after barging in. Police say the man hit Miller with a hammer, and Miller bit the man's face.

Miller's attorney previously said that Miller was highly intoxicated when he walked into the wrong house on his way home from a local bar.

Miller is charged with criminal mischief and assault.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 11.
