CORTLAND -- Cortland County Sheriff's deputies hope you can help catch a group of vandals.

Investigators say someone damaged several statues on the miniature golf course at the well known Shipwreck Golf in Cortland, southeast of SUNY Cortland. The worst damage was done to a shark at the course. Police say the vandals smashed out several of its teeth. The owner of Shipwreck Golf says the vandals also stole the teeth, so new ones will have to be made. The damage to the shark statute alone will cost about $1,200 to repair. Vandals also cut ropes on the mast of a full-sized pirate ship.

Deputies say the vandalism happened sometime between last Friday night and eight o'clock Saturday morning, May 18th. Investigators are following leads and checking video of the incident, but they are asking anyone who may have been golfing Friday evening to give them a call at (607) 753-3311.
