OWASCO, CAYUGA CO. -- State police say an Owasco woman is under arrest for intentionally setting a fire at her own home.

Deborah Salmon, 47, is being charged with 3rd degree arson.

Police say Salmon set the fire last Thursday at 70 Adams Street in the Town of Owasco. That's right near Owasco Elementary School.

She was pulled to safety by the Owasco Fire Chief and a friend of hers who found her unconscious inside the home.

Salmon was arraigned in the Town of Owasco and sent to the Cayuga County jail on $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.

State police say the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department, the Cayuga County Fire Investigation Team, the Owasco Fire Department, and the New York state Office of Fire Prevention helped with the investigation.
