SYRACUSE -- The Scripps National Spelling Bee is May 30-31 and four students from Central New York participated in the preliminaries on Wednesday.
11-year-old Gavin Buehler, #157, is in 5th Grade at Williamson Middle School in Williamson.
13-year-old Philip Andrew Cummings, #165, is in 7th grade at Oswego Middle School in Oswego.
12-year-old Emily Theresa Carello, #167, is in 7th grade at H.W. Smith School in Syracuse.
11-year-old Dylan O’Connor, #168, is in 5th grade at Alexandria Central Shcool in Alex Bay.
The semifinals are Thursday at 10:00am and the Finals follow at 8:00pm.
