UTICA -- A Whitesboro teen is accused of robbing an elderly woman of the necklace she was wearing.
Utica Police say they arrested 18-year-old Cory Pagan, of Whitesboro, for third degree robbery after he allegedly robbed an elderly woman at Hannaford on Mohawk Street.
Police say Pagan allegedly approached the woman and asked her if she knew where he could find a specific item from the store.
She showed Pagan to where the item was then she continued shopping. She told police that she realized that Pagan was following her around the store.
Police say Pagan ran at the woman and ripped off the necklace she was wearing. He pushed her down to the floor, and fled the store.
The woman was able to provide the police a detailed description of Pagan. Police were able to locate him hiding in a yard on Morris Street.
He was later identified and arrested. Pagan is charged with felony robbery.
