SYRACUSE -- Cirque Du Soleil brings its high flying act to War Memorial this week.
The critically acclaimed touring production Dralion will give seven performances at the OnCenter War Memorial Arena from June 6th-10.
The cast of Dralion features more than 50 world-class acrobats, gymnasts, musicians and singers. The show is a fusion of ancient Chinese circus traditions and the eclectic style Cirque Du Soleil is famous for.
Head acrobatic coach Michael Ocampo says the cast trains for months to be ready for the show.
"Not only is there a lot of acrobatic training but there is also artistic training. So they are going to learn how to dance, how to move, how to use their voice, these are all classes they are going to take," Ocampo says.
Cirque De Soleil has been entertaining people around the world with gravity defying shows for almost 30 years. Julie Desmarai, Publicist for Cirque De Soleil, says it takes a major effort to bring all the details of the show together.
"Detail is a major thing in the Cirque Du Soleil production. We travel with 18 trucks it takes ten hours to set up," Desmarai says.
More than 8 million people have seen Dralion since it first premiered back in 1999.
There will be one show each night on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There will be two shows each night on Saturday and Sunday.
